Have I mentioned our blue corn and chocolate tea yet? Can’t remember. It’s stunning. I’m brewing right now. (Yes, chocolate tea made from skin and nib) with blue corn and roses from our friend’s farm.
KPMG have a women’s network of knowledge, called KNOW – KPMG Network Of Knowledge. It’s a great platform for switched on consultants and customers to come together twice a year. I had the pleasure of doing a keynote in Munich KNOW in summer and again this week in Hamburg.
I appreciate that such a big company would invite a little social enterpreneur like me to talk about soc ent, connoisseurship and things that come in between like business models, vulnerability and purpose.
Thanks ladies! See you soon, like friday ;-)
Jute is our most important fabric. When we collect the cacao pods we put them in jute (never touching the ground!!) so they can air (and not go sour) as we collect about 40 pods per bag (depending on weight). I’m fascinated by quality differences in jute, so testing out a new one — in the office. Hee hee.
I get it. It’s difficult. As a consumer in bewildered and as a food producer I’m angry.
Labeling on foods is confusing. I have nothing to hide in my social enterprise, BLYSS, and so happily put my hand up for standardised product packaging rules. Ok from a design perspective it’s a bummer but our role in good is not to be artists but to inform our consumer about what they are buying and why it’s relevant for them.
Food regulation topic covered by Food Navigator gets my support.
Maybe unsexy as a topic, but and informed and confident consumer is, in my humble opinion, the sexiest person out there.
Sent while on the run. Love lyss x
Had a ball with Slow Food Ireland from Biabeag.com Keith Bohanna and his friends, Rod and Julie from Highbank Orchard. This gorgeous purely organic and biodynamic farm took my heart as they love their multi diverse apple orchard making cider just “proper” with one ingredient, apples (and a non alcoholic version), apple syrup (for sweeties!) and coming soon – apple gin and brandy. The smallest legal distillery in Ireland and a couple who is full-heart agroecology nerds, I love them and their work. A pleasure to meet. Go google keith, and highbank orchard. Fall in love.
Posted while on the run, sorry guys! Love x
Loved being greeted with chocolate art and thanks from the kids at the Father McGrath Centre in Kilkenny, Ireland where we delivered 10 laptops with education software as part of our commitment to labdoo.org (we are munich hub). Was such a great day! These kids are part of a social program that help them overcome learning or domestic challenges so they have a big chance at a bright(er) future. A great team from Stephan and Karin in Kilkenny providing a light for other social centers and community care in the region.
Chocolate and education, does life get any better?
